A beauty sleep is enough to excuse, actually a reason, to cancel plans. Sleep is linked to a lot of health benefits but this is rarely mentioned that sleep improves the quality of your skin. The more hours you spare for quality sleep the better your skin will glow. No much input with regards to creams and drinking water while these are still essential and have an impact here. It can be simpler. If you didn’t know, sleep is the purest skin care mechanism.
When we sleep the body recharges. Not every part of the tissue is dormant at when you are deep in sleep. The worn out and torn tissues are replenished and cell energy is restored. Any toxins in the tissues including the skin are eliminated from the body; this is why you feel the urge to relive the body the first thing you wake up. Detoxification and cleaning processes were going on while you were sleep. Your only role is to help eliminate them out of the body.
The first three hours of sleep triggers the pituitary gland to release growth hormone, which is necessary for replenishing and repairing the skin and body tissues. It is an important hormone, especially as people advance in years because it helps in radiating the skin hence a youthful outlook. If you are distracted during sleep, the hormone is not released hence wear and tear continues. The epidermis experiences damage on a daily basis, the only way to repair it is through the pituitary gland hormone.
The next phase of sleep is two hours. This is the middle stage of sleep. It has to be a smooth transition to this stage. During these two hours, melatonin levels are increased in the body. Primarily, melatonin helps in regulating sleep-wake patterns. Lack of this hormone in the body interferes with sleep patterns hence disorders like sleep apnea. Besides, the pattern regulation, melatonin prevents free radicals in the body from damaging the outer layer of cells. Free radicals are in constant motion through body tissues while you are asleep without melatonin, which can only be produced during the two hours, your skin will be damaged.
The last stage of sleep also known as REM involves a decrease in a stress hormone known as cortisol. This is time to relax and recover. There is little or no movement during this sleep phase. It helps the skin to replenish and recover worn out areas. This phase is crucial to the health condition.
You should have a specific time of going to bed and waking up. It is the best night skin care. For a healthy body and consistent moods and energy levels in the day, set a sleeping schedule and stick to it. You might have heard of this over again and may not be making sense to you. The consequences, in this case, should worry you. You might not have noticed the cause of your dry or dull skin; take a closer look. It may not have been so years ago.
Go to bed early and don’t sleep in. Let it be adequate sleep. Your body works like a system, it should automatically shut down and be up after specific hours. Actually, you don’t need an alarm if you are sleeping right. The body won’t go past a certain time if you have been consistent.
Also, specific sleeping patterns allow the body to go through the 3 phases without any interference. The 3 phases should not be interchanged or anything if you need healthy skin. Sleep is a natural skin care technique.
The number of hours at night you spend in sleep has a lot to do with the quality of your skin. The phases can only be effective in the 3-2-3 pattern. If you sleep for shorter or longer, the body will not undergo all the three stages. With less sleep, only one phase may be complete, which is not proper. If you sleep for more than 8 hours, the cycle will not repeat for a healthier skin. It will worsen the condition because the hormones will overwork, the growth hormone will trigger cells to overdrive, which is detrimental to your health.
More than Skin Effect
Excess or little sleep affects your moods and concentration. With inadequate sleep, you are likely to be irritable throughout the day because the body is stressed, it did not rest. Your production at work or concentration level in class will be noticeably low. Basically, you will waste a whole day because of a few hours of sleep. Sleep is significant to our daily routine.
Lack of sleep increase stress levels in the body. You are likely to lose hair because of poor sleeping patterns. While there are various causes of hair loss, sleep is one of the major causes. You might be using all the creams and hair growth oils but you will be disappointed if you are not getting enough sleep.
Sleep is a natural way of replenishing your body. It is a cure for numerous health problems. If you want a smooth, glowing, and healthy skin, go on with drinking lots of water, sun screening, applying skin protection creams but most importantly get enough sleep.
